The 2010 Mets draft – 17th Round pick Chad Sheppard

 

With the 512th overall pick in the 2010 MLB Draft, the Mets selected RHP Chad Sheppard in the 17th round. 

Chad did not pitch in 2010 for the Mets, but did pitch in 2011 for the Gulf Coast League Mets in the Gulf Coast League and Kingsport Mets in the Appalachian League (both Rookie levels).  He appeared in 17 games in 2011 out of the bullpen with a record of 3-1 with an ERA of 4.84.  He pitched 22 1/3 innings, allowing 17 hits, walking 16 and striking out 33 with a WHIP of 1.48.

In 2012, Chad appeared in two games for the Florence Freedom of the Frontier League in July, pitching two innings.
