The 2010 Mets Draft – 18th Round pick A.J. Pinera

 

In the 2010 MLB draft, the Mets chose in the 18th round with the 542nd overall selection RHP A.J. Pinera. 

A.J.’s career with in the Mets organization was very brief.  He was assigned to the Brooklyn Cyclones (A-) of the New York Penn League and lasted just one season in professional ball.

He appeared in 16 games (11 starts) with a record of 2-3 with an ERA of 2.44.  He pitched 62 2/3 innings, allowing 62 hits, walking 12 and striking out 54 with a WHIP of 1.18.  

While we may not know what happened to A.J. after 2010 after his one successful season – we wish him well.
